Hello, and welcome to this week’s devotional. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, take a minute and breathe. Breathe in the Holy Spirit and exhale the world. Jesus longs to meet with you and hear your voice. Let Him fill you with His perfect love and peace as we dive into this week’s passage.
DO NOT BE AFRAID. Strength and bravery take you.
‘You know my commands. In my sacred words, I tell you. Do not be afraid. Not as guidance or a suggestion but as a command. I know my plans for you, and they will not leave you in fear or distress. There is no room for fear in my perfect love, for it cannot survive. Fear cannot thrive in my presence, and my love surrounds you. It engulfs you and fills you up, cloaking you in my protection. My unsearchable and incomprehensible understanding of this world will see you through, and I will stand against those who oppose you. No weapon, perverseness or blasphemous word will take you down, so do not be afraid. What do you need to fear but me? The flesh cannot hurt you, and the spiritual arrows of fire are extinguished in the Lamb’s blood. I protect my children, and you are my precious child. So, take hold of bravery and do not be afraid. I go after you, with you and before you. Always.’
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” - Joshua 1:9
Reflection
Can you remember when you felt afraid, but God had seen you through?
When faced with anxiety and feeling afraid in the future, what will you do differently?
