Hello, and welcome to this week’s devotional. Wherever you are, whatever you are doing, take a minute and breathe. Breathe in the Holy Spirit and exhale the world. Jesus longs to meet with you and hear your voice. Let Him fill you with His perfect love and peace as we dive into this week’s passage.
COME TO ME, MY CHILD. I am calling.
I call you in gentle whispers. I call you loudly in the storm. I call you in your misery and I call you in your joy. I call you to me because through me, everything is made new. Everything is made right. Everything is made Holy. Come to me, my child, listen to my calling. My sheep know my voice and obey because they know there is refuge in me. I was, am and will forever be your Heavenly Father. I love you in a way that is incomprehensible to human nature. When you don’t know where to turn, come to me. When you do know where to turn, come to me. Come to me always, come to me first, and I will make your paths straight. Who better to go to than the one who knows you even better than you know yourself? I care deeply for you and have plans for your restoration. Like a son runs to his father’s open arms, run into mine and I will hold you safely and let you hide in my shadow. Come to me, child. Come.
²⁰ “And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him. ²¹ And the son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight, and am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ ²² But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him, and put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.”’ - Luke 15:20-22 (NKJV)
