Hi friends, welcome back to another ‘Around the Coffee Table’. It’s a day late… I’m very sorry… but you’ll find out why soon!
How are you all? Please let me know in the comments how Jesus is working in your lives! I love hearing from you.
What a week… what a weekend. I am thrilled and over the moon to say that my little sister is now a married woman. My little Amy walked down the aisle on Saturday, 26th April, and married the man I am so happy to call my brother-in-law. She looked angelic and perfect. Her God-given beauty was radiant, and the day was utterly perfect. The Holy Spirit was powerfully moving among us from start to finish. Jesus’ peace and joy were tangible, and I thank God for his covenant with Amy and Matt.
On Friday, the 25th, some others and I went to the Church to help set it up—the flowers, the PA, and to rehearse walking down the aisle. Even when we were practising it, we felt the excitement and butterflies. We had a lovely chilled-out evening with yummy food and got an early night ready for the big day. Saturday rolls around, and I get a phone call from my sister at 5:45 am with ‘There’s no hot water,’ the hair stylist will be here soon, and I can’t shower. ’ Imagine.
I get her over to my pod for a shower, and the day begins. Hair, make-up, and revision because Amy has a university exam today… I never thought that she would be revising the morning of her wedding.
Midday arrives, and everyone is in the Church. The bridal party and bride arrive, and we pray to our Heavenly Father one last time before she becomes Mrs Cross (suitable name, don’t you think?! 😆)
My maid of honour duties started pouring in, and I realised that heels would not cut it. My sandals came on very quickly.
The day goes on, with confetti, photos, sit-down meals, speeches, cutting the cake, the first dance, and all the rest. It was seamless. No one could believe just how perfectly the day went. I’m still in disbelief. I wrote a poem for my sister as a part of my speech, which I am very excited to share with you all soon.
When Sunday rolled around, we packed up and headed out for brunch before going home. It’s taken me until posting this to get my head back into the realities of everyday life and child care. Yesterday was the laziest day I have had in a long time, and today has been about cleaning, washing clothes, taking care of my home... and writing this.
I’m so happy and incredibly thankful to God for His endless blessings.
On a separate note, my life group is doing my 1 Samuel 25 lessons for the next four weeks, which is super exciting. Last night, we did The Power of Emotions lesson, which was received well. Everyone was so engaged, and it opened up some vulnerable conversations. I’m so thankful to God for the valuable lessons we could learn and share. Keep your eyes peeled for the 1 Samuel 25 lesson plans released on the 21st May!
I am currently going through all of the pre-employment checks for my new job, which is exciting. I just need to get my referees in, and then I’ll find my start date! What a release it’s been. I may have no money now, but it doesn’t matter! God is good.
It has dawned on me that my 6 weeks’ worth of content is quickly running out. It’s time to glue myself to my desk chair and get writing again. Onwards and upwards!
God bless,
You were a fantastic Maid of Honour, darling. It was a perfect and blessed day, indeed! 🙏🏻🤍
It was a wonderful and beautiful day… and you were a brilliant maid of honour, supporting your sister in such a lovely way. 😊
